ABOUT

ABOUT

The Baker House is a superbly located bed and breakfast in the historic Village of Rhinebeck, New York.  Our  2 1/2 acre property affords guests the pleasure of a wooded setting while being a mere five minute stroll to the commercial center.

Being the very first residence in Rhinebeck Village at the West Market Street entrance, the historic blue stone sidewalk begins at our house and leads you to quaint shops, spas and over twenty restaurants.

We are also conveniently located a short drive from the campus of Bard College, Poet's Walk, The Dutchess County Fairgrounds, The Rhinebeck Performing Arts Center, The Aerodrome, FDR Presidential Library and the historic Mills and Wildenstein mansions. Train service to and from New York City is only 1.8 miles from our house.

Built about 1870, The Baker House is a fine example of the Victorian Italianate architectural style. Your hosts, George and Sandra Baker have taken great care in the ongoing restoration of the house to preserve the historic fabric of the house and offer you the choice of four romantic en suite guest rooms.  Enjoy the restorative beauty of The Hudson Valley in our unique and characterful, antique and book filled house.
