THE BAKER HOUSE
Bed & Breakfast
Our Reopening Plan
We have conceived of how we will reopen our house with the safety of our guests foremost in all our considerations.
Until such time as business for everyone in hospitality returns to normal, we will only utilize our two guest rooms that have their own exterior entrances. The main part of the house will be closed at this time to allow for maximum social distancing. We will continue to offer breakfast, albeit in a simpler fashion, and reduce guest stays to a maximum of three nights as there will no longer be daily housekeeping.
The Writer's Room, our largest suite, will allow guests to take breakfast outside on a private balcony. The Gardener's Room has a lovely private patio that, weather permitting, will be used for guests staying on the first floor.
We are saddened as innkeepers to have to discuss this new reality and not be able to socialize with our guests to the degree that we were used to, but we will continue to do everything we can to still make you feel welcome and comfortable in our home.
As we will be staggering reservations, please call us directly to book your stay.
The Baker House is a superbly sited bed and breakfast in the historic Village of Rhinebeck, New York. Our location affords guests the pleasure of a wooded setting while being a mere five minute stroll to the commercial center. As the very first property at the West Market Street entrance to the village, the historic blue stone sidewalk begins at our house. Built about 1870, The Baker House is a fine example of the Victorian Italianate architectural style. Your hosts, George and Sandra Baker have taken great care to restore the historic fabric of the house and offer a choice of four romantic en suite guest rooms.
Freshly brewed coffee and tea compliment the homemade baked goods, cereals and fruit available in The Coffee Room. At around 9am, guests gather around the large dining table for a specially prepared full breakfast.
At our daily happy hour, we offer complimentary wine, beer and soft drinks with light snacks.
Coffee and hot tea is also available.
All rooms feature the following:
En suite bathrooms
Flat Screen TVs
Organic Saatva Mattresses
Beekman 1802 Toiletries
Complimentary Wifi is available throughout the house.
